um no, they want educated people, particularly jobs in the medical field that are short on employees, like nurses!

A degree is a degree. As long as you get a “real” degree from the college, and not a certificate or anything, you should be fine

    Emily,

The issue is school accreditation. Few on-line programs are accredited. Unless your program is accredited by an association that provides accreditation to traditional recognized schools and colleges, your time and money will be wasted!

It is not a matter of liking or not liking on-line degrees. They will be increasing in their number and acceptance. You need proper and full accreditation to be economically competitive vis-a-vis any traditional graduate. To put in the same effort at the same or higher cost and be denied equivalent respect is unthinkable. Be most careful in your school selection!

No not true at all. Only if the school isn’t accredited and/or the program. Some majors like business, computers/technology, legal field have to be accredited by a well known and recognized body. I think that some of the MOST outstanding work come from individuals who completed they’re degrees online. Everyone can’t race from work at 5:30 to be to school by 6:00(this is when most evening classes start) so their other and only option is to get an online education. You just got to do what’s best for you. Just make sure you do your research before selecting a college.Good luck!

As long as the college (online or campus based) is regionally accredited, any degree you earn should be accepted by any potential employers or other academic institutions.
My best recommendation would be to contact a number of colleges to find the best fit for you and your needs (tuition, schedule, career opportunities, etc.). Too often people enroll in the first school they find rather than taking the time to find the best school for them. Taking that time now could save you a lot of time, money and frustration if you choose the wrong school.
This site has some good info on regionally accredited online degrees and some colleges that offer them to help expand your search:
    http://www.ecollegefinder.org
I think you can enter your info on there for any colleges you are interested in and they will send you more info for free. Good Luck!

Most employer now view online degrees very favourably. Of course it needs to be accredited and preferably be from a university that is also a bricks and mortar establishment. Many of the traditional Universities now offer online degrees.
Forget your ‘Life Experience Degrees and you degrees in 7 days rubbish though. They won’t even get you an interview.
I interview job candidates for a living and can tell you that the current thinking is that most people who go to university will get a degree simply because they are there. Ever seen the bars and clubs on ‘student nights’! On the other hand to get an online degree requires motivation, dedication and a lot of hard (albeit flexible) work. Also many online degree graduates tend to be a little older and more mature. See the advice at http://www.waddayouneed.com/online-university/
There are links to US and UK and other uni’s also. Also check out the info books on the site. It says they cost but if you click on them there are some good free downlands. There is one book about online degrees that will cost you $10 that I highly recommend you get it and read it thoroughly before committing to an online degree.
